These Are a Few of My Favorite Things...

Today was a good day. I slept in which was nice after having a few nights of broken sleep. I went for a walk, took yoga, ate a yummy oatmeal and am waiting to teach yoga tonight. I'm currently surrounded by two cats and sweet Kate is painting in preparation for Zab's Ability Craft Fair. (Mark your calendar for November 10th 12:30-3:30pm. Come say hello or buy a Kate original art piece at Freedom Park.)

It's a good day.

I thought it would be fun to share a few of my favorite things.

Current FAVORITE hair product:

Healing Color Care Color-Preserving Trauma Treatment. This product is a game changer. My hair stylist Yvette Rose (go see her) turned me on to this product. It's a leave in conditioner that doesn't weigh hair down but almost seems to strengthen and repair. You can find it at Ulta. I love the way it smells! If you give it a try, let me know your thoughts. The L'ANZA line of products are all incredible (but pricey). I typically justify purchases like this with a tagline of "my hair is important to me"...lol. I am a hair product snob and feel like I have tried them all! Report back!

Current favorite moisturizer:

The Ordinary is anything but ordinary! The price point on these products is AMAZING (at an average of $10 a product). I am a big fan of using oils as moisturizers. The Ordinary rose hip oil and Trader Joes argan oil are two of my favorites. My Mom always had beautiful skin and the skin oils were her secret weapon.

FAVORITE COOKIE! :

Let me preface this by saying I couldn't stop thinking about these cookies. Rob and I took a trip to Boone, NC and as a late night stop, popped into the Appalachia Cookie Company. I think there were only 4 cookies left (due to the late hour). Customers were waiting patiently for fresh cookies...but I wanted immediate gratification. Every cookie we ate was a DREAM!

The next day we returned before returning to Charlotte and I casually purchased a dozen more! Ha!

Currently they are featuring the Pumpkin Spice cookie. And GOOD news for my local Charlotte peeps, they have a store in the University area. If you would like to buy me a present, I will take COOKIES. :)

This Cheesecake Fruity Pebble situation looks like it would be too much, but I assure you it was everything that is right with the world. Go....go and get the cookies!

And what a perfect segue...from cookies to running shoes. Ha! Well played.

My Favorite Running Shoe:

The Altra Escalante Running Shoe. It's a zero drop design that makes me feel "normal" in my runs. I don't feel disconnected from my feet. I have three pairs and alternate so they don't wear out as quickly. I'd love to hear about your favorite running or walking shoe.

On a creative front, I have been enjoying doodling more. I am forever an Adobe Illustrator girl. I recently purchased a Huion tablet (with the guidance of my former college mate Andy) which has been a lot of fun. I feel like I am naturally drawing rather than fighting with computer tools and limitations of a mouse. The tablet comes with a pen that works when drawn directly on the screen. So fun! I can't believe I waited so long to purchase. I designed my friend Lyndsay's logo with it. I am glad she was as thrilled with her logo, as I was. She's doing some pretty cool things with balance and health. Check out her site!

And for my final favorite thing of the day- CANDLES!

Nothing beats a comforting scented room at the end of a long day (add wine for perfection).

This scent is spectacular. The description reads: Tropical fruits, sugared oranges, lemons, and limes, redolent with lightly exotic mountain greens. I love this candle so much. Rob and I have gifted this candle to each other on many occasions.

What are a few of your favorite moisturizers? Cookies? Candles?

Off to teach-

Until next time.

Love and peace,

Dana Sayre~
